ω1-generated uniserial modules over chain rings

The purpose of this paper is to provide a criterion of an occurrence of uncountably generated uniserial modules over chain rings. As we show it suffices to investigate two extreme cases, nearly simple chain rings, i.e. chain rings containing only three twosided ideals, and chain rings with “many” two-sided ideals. We prove that there exists an ω1-generated uniserial module over every non-artini...

SOME REMARKS ON ALMOST UNISERIAL RINGS AND MODULES

In this paper we study almost uniserial rings and modules. An R−module M is called almost uniserial if any two nonisomorphic submodules are linearly ordered by inclusion. A ring R is an almost left uniserial ring if R_R is almost uniserial. We give some necessary and sufficient condition for an Artinian ring to be almost left uniserial.

Polynomial Equivalence of Finite Rings

We prove that Zpn and Zp[t]/(t) are polynomially equivalent if and only if n ≤ 2 or p = 8. For the proof, employing Bernoulli numbers, we provide the polynomials which compute the carry-on part for the addition and multiplication in base p. As a corollary, we characterize finite rings of p elements up to polynomial equivalence.

Derived Equivalence and Stable Equivalence of Repetitions

For repetitions (= repetitive \algebras") of algebras of nite global dimension we will show that there exists a triangle equivalence between their bounded derived categories of nitely presented modules ii there exists a triangle equivalence between their stable categories of nitely presented modules.

Foxby Equivalence over Associative Rings

We extend the definition of a semidualizing module to associative rings. This enables us to define and study Auslander and Bass classes with respect to a semidualizing bimodule C. We then study the classes of C-flats, C-projectives, and C-injectives, and use them to provide a characterization of the modules in the Auslander and Bass classes. We extend Foxby equivalence to this new setting. This...
